It felt like an unseasonably warm day! It was a beautiful day for sure, but I feel like we were warmer than normal for the end of April. Don’t worry, we all survived with smiles on our faces and not melting too much! Jessie and Chris were married at Southern Pines at the end of April. We had only met once before, back in the fall, since they live in South Florida. Jessie has family here, so they chose to exchange vows here in North Florida…and I’m glad they did!
Jessie and Chris had a beautiful and simple wedding. Even though I say it was a simple wedding, there were still so many personal elements to the day. They had all kinds of wood signs, a stained glass piece and a tapestry that one of their friends made for them. I feel like they really made the effort to focus on what was important to them, which was their family and friends. Both Jessie and Chris had one person standing beside them on this adventure (although Jessie did have an awesome bride tribe there as well). It was a relaxed day and they were able to just focus on each other and enjoy the moments being created! This sweet couple also included their pups, which made my heart happy since I’m such an animal lover!! We even got them looking at the camera simultaneously, so I would call that a win! (It was definitely a group effort)
This laid back couple was so easy going with all of my thoughts that we ended up with so many portraits, which I just love. Jessie even hopped a fence in her wedding dress and boots to hang out in the flower field. They were lucky and blessed with that field because not even one week later the flowers were dwindling. It’s all about timing! The wildflowers around here come and go so quickly! To make things even better, Jessie requested to run through the field (and I immediately had a Sound of Music moment)! Those are probably some of my favorite shots of the day – great thinking, Jessie!
Chris and Jessie, thank you so much for having me out for this special occasion! Your day was absolutely beautiful and you both are just the sweetest! Wishing you lots of love and laughter (and craft beer) in your future!
xoxo,
Holly
