She made it to the end of the aisle, looked at her Groom and mouthed “I love you.” I felt a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes…this wouldn’t be the only time that I got choked up during this wedding day. It’s funny how the little things like that can really move you. I was privy to this tiny moment, something not witnessed by the majority of those in attendance at the wedding, and it has stuck with me. Dominique and Andrew’s wedding day was not only filled with some tears, but oh so many laughs. We really had the best time!

Dominique and Andrew started their day getting ready at the Hilton UF, which was also the site of their reception. I was a little worried as I arrived into Gainesville as the weather was looking a bit dismal. Let’s be honest, I was hoping for sunshine and rainbows – because who doesn’t love that. But the real reason I was hoping for these things is because their engagement session was done entirely in the rain…like the whole session…and it was cold. Despite it raining, it actually ended up being a great session and such fun images! Thankfully, we had some nice weather – the sun peeped in and out, and it was perfect. These two are troopers and down for anything, so had it actually rained, it would’ve been no problem and we would’ve definitely persevered.

All of their pre-ceremony portraits were taken on the Hilton property, which made me happy because they have a tree that is to die for! I had so much fun with the girls and the guys and there was really never a dull moment. After portraits, we left for the Baughman Center at the University of Florida for their ceremony. I love the Baughman Center for small intimate weddings like this one. Its architecture is beautiful and it sits right on Lake Alice. It was perfect for these two. Dominique walked down the aisle to the theme song to Jurassic Park, which made me happy because I love it and think that it has to be one of the best scored pieces of music. Ever. It really gives me all the feels.

I love that these two chose to have a smaller, more intimate wedding. It was really about the love and connections. There were so many personal touches to the day. The date that they chose to start their life as husband and wife was the Anniversary of her grandparents, she also had a handwritten heart charm on her bouquet in memory of her Grandfather. It was incredibly special. Dominique wore her grandmother’s pearls, and her grandmother assisted in putting them on her. She really thought about all of the little things that meant something to her and incorporated them beautifully!

Dominique and Andrew, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of such a special and meaningful day! I had the best time with you guys! You truly have become friends, and of course, practically neighbors! I wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful time reliving your beautiful day!!
