Oh guys, I am so excited for this post! I have been waiting for well over a month now to share these images from Holly’s Bridal Session! Since Holly and Charlie have already tied the knot, I figured now would be a good time to share!!
Most of my brides and/or brides that I know do not choose to add on a Bridal Session, but I think everyone should start reconsidering that. In case you’re wondering, Bridal Sessions are taken about 1-2 months out from the wedding, in your wedding dress with full hair and makeup. It may just be a Southern tradition, but I think any bride, anywhere should really consider!
If you choose to have a trial run of hair and makeup, then you should really think about making a day of it. You’re already dolled up, why not hop into your wedding gown and have your portraits made. Not only will this allow you to display your portrait at your wedding reception, but you’ll also be able to see if any changes need to be made in regards to your hair and makeup. Really, it’s a win-win. Think about scheduling your hair and makeup trial when your dress comes in from the last fitting and let’s go out and create some awesome portraits! Also, if you choose to do this, talk with your florist about making your toss bouquet from silk flowers so that you can have one out on your session! Or if your wedding bouquet is not from fresh flowers and is already made, then bring that.
I was thrilled that Holly wanted to do a Bridal session. She chose to do them at her home church where her and Charlie would soon become husband and wife. This place is really special to her and obviously, it’s beautiful. Truth be told, it’s one of my favorite churches in town. From the huge pipe organ to the stain-glass windows, it’s just filled with a lot of character. We had a great time doing these and I really couldn’t be happier with the session!
So, if you’re on the fence about adding this session, let’s talk about it! Don’t be afraid that you’ll get your dress dirty! I try and take all precautions with making sure to get as little dirt on the bottom as possible. Also, just think if you do these, then you’ll be a posing-pro on your wedding day and we’ll just have that many more portraits of you to choose from! And…you get to be in your dress TWICE!! That should be reason enough! You fell in love with your dress for a reason, let’s make sure to show it off!!
xoxo,
Holly
