This post is a special one for me (and maybe a little lengthy). It’s not because it was the last wedding of the 2016 Wedding Season, which it was, but because this beautiful bride and I go way back. Not like way back 5 years ago, but like 20+ years ago. I know you must be sitting there doing the math, but let’s just not add more years onto the 20 than needed! I grew up with Michelle from our old days at the local Girls Club through our Senior Year of high school. We’ve remained friends and would see each other here and there (along with the other 3 in our Party of 5 Group). However, I feel as we’ve all gotten older, we’ve started to see each other more and have spent a good bit of time together here recently since we’re all within an hour-ish drive of one another! So needless to say, when Michelle reached out about her wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited to be there for her!
Michelle and Randall originally had their wedding plans set for a traditional wedding at a barn venue in Jacksonville. As she went on making plans she decided to scrap that idea and to do something more them. Something smaller and more intimate. Someplace with a lot of memories for them. They decided on Savannah and to only have their family and people who would have been in the wedding in attendance. I was stoked at this idea, and you’ll see why in the pictures below. I love traveling and I would really love to start traveling more for weddings! I love changing things up and having weddings that look like no one else’s. Ultimately, no two weddings are the same!
Michelle and Randall’s wedding weekend was quite amazing! I arrived on Thursday afternoon just in time to make it to Rehearsal. Upon walking into Reynolds Square, I could see why they would want to exchange vows there. Savannah is known for their opulent Oak Trees, and honestly, not one inch of the town disappointed! After rehearsal, we had dinner at Garibaldi’s, which was fantastic. The venue was beautiful and food delicious. Afterward, we retreated back to our hotel and Michelle finished up some last minute centerpieces. Yes, the table centerpieces were crafted by the bride! Beautiful, right?!
Friday, wedding day! Side note: I love weekday weddings! Wedding day was a little earlier than normal for me since their ceremony time was at 11:30. We took a horse-drawn carriage to Reynolds Square – talk about riding in style. This fit Michelle perfectly, since she’s such a lover of horses! After saying their “I Do’s” under a beautiful tree surrounded by no more than 50 people, Michelle, Randall and I loaded back up in the carriage and jetted out to start their formals! These two are so easy going and everything just came together to make for such a beautiful wedding day. We wrapped up all of the formal pictures and walked over to The Olde Pink House for their brunch reception! This place was beautiful!! Delicious food and really the perfect space for our group! I really cannot wait to go back to Savannah and check them out again, along with so many other places! Do you remember me saying in a previous post about how much I cry at weddings lately, well rest assured, that still happened this day. I was fine all day until Michelle and Randall entered their reception as husband and wife and went into their first dance together. I was fine and then all of a sudden, cue the water works! Seriously. Out of nowhere. But I guess that’s just what happens when one of your longtime friends marries the man who is perfect for her.
Honestly, I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding to end the year with. It was such a great time and incredibly beautiful. Savannah is to die for, and I really could see myself photographing there more often (hint, hint). It has beautiful landscaping, but the town and buildings are just as beautiful! You couldn’t ask for more!
Michelle and Randall, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of such a special day!! It was an incredible couple of days and I am so happy for you guys! I love you both!
xoxo,
Holly
