Sometimes love is big and loud, but sometimes it is gentle and has a quiet power. That’s what I think of when I look at Shelby and Clay. I first met Shelby over the summer when her and her mom came to visit me to chat more about the wedding. At this point in time, Shelby and Clay had already had an engagement session, so they opted to not do another one. So, going into their wedding day, I had no idea what to expect of them as a couple. I knew from our first meeting, and then running into Shelby at another wedding, that she is a soft spoken sweetie. But, what of Clay? After meeting him, I knew he was exactly the same and that these two fit so well together. They are two easy-going individuals who share a great love for one another.

Shelby and Clay chose to marry at her Grandmother’s house back in November in Chiefland. Even though they had a backyard wedding, there was not a shortage of details or guests! It really was quite perfect and special. Cozy and familiar, but still very well done! Shelby’s dress was simple, but had a gorgeous beaded belt and beautiful bow on the back. However, my favorite part of the dress were the pockets! I’m pretty sure any wedding dress that has pockets automatically is taken to the next level for me! And Clay was pretty handsome in his gray suit too!

This day was filled with so much love and emotion! Shelby and Clay said their “I Do’s” under a beautiful oak tree and then celebrated the night away under the pretty market lighting. It was a chilly evening, but the day was simply beautiful. There were a couple of special moments that really touched me. During the father-daughter dance, Shelby and her father stopped dancing and walked to the different sets of grandparents for hugs. I’m not sure what she said to them, but it was such a precious moment to witness. Then before Clay and his mother made their way to the dance floor, Clay gave such a sweet speech to his mom. Cue the tears. I feel like I have cried a lot more this wedding season than normal, but I just can’t help how sweet my couples and their families are! You really could tell how connected these two are to their families and how family really is the most important thing.

Shelby and Clay, thank you so much for having me document such a special time and for allowing me to throw flowers at you! You two are just the sweetest and I wish you a lifetime of love and laughter!
