When you live in (or visit) a state like Florida during the summer, you quickly come to have a love-hate relationship with what I lovingly refer to as bipolar weather. We Floridians live day-to-day hour-by-hour not really knowing what the weather will be and never fully trusting the weatherman/forecast. It’s just a part of life that we must embrace during these humidity filled summer days. That being said, summer weddings get tricky. Alayna and Daniel’s day was no different. You see, all day while I was at the house hanging around and all the way up to getting ready to leave the house for their big day, it wasn’t raining. Not. One. Drop. Then on the way, that’s when it began. The sprinkles. Then all the rain. Seriously. But they did not let that ruin their day! We talked about what would happen if it continued to rain, made a back up plan and moved on!
You may remember these two from their gorgeous engagement session a few months back. If not, check it out here! I was excited going into Alayna and Daniel’s wedding, in spite of the rain, because I just loved how they loved each other. They really are both just a joy to be around and I honestly love how they look and smile at each other. It’s precious! Alayna and Daniel said their “I Do’s” in front of their closest family and friends at Christ Central Church. Thankfully once these two exchanged vows, the rain had stopped. It was still steamy and gray outside, but no rain! We’ll take it! So we proceeded on with family formals and group shots! After formal portraits we headed back inside to begin their reception celebration! Oh, let’s just talk about this cake for a minute. I don’t always eat wedding cake (I mean, I want to, but I don’t always…but try to most times) but this one was amazing! It was chocolate strawberry! Two of my favorite things! After all of the festivities inside, we knew we needed to get back outside to finish up their bride and groom portraits. Lo and behold, we were greeted by the sun! Not just a little, but completely drenched in golden rays of perfection! See this is what makes Florida infuriating and amazing all at the same time. We went from no rain, to full rain, to no rain and gray, to yummy golden light! You just never know how a day will end! But this day ended perfectly!
Alayna and Daniel, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your lives! Your wedding day was sweet and perfect and it was such an honor to be a part of! Wishing you lots of love!!
xoxo,
Holly
