Lindsay and Jerry | Lake City Backyard Wedding

Lindsay and Jerry’s wedding…where do I start? When you think of April weddings, you may think of gorgeous weather, where it’s not too cold and it’s not too hot, all you need is a light jacket [anyone?]. You may think of soft colors and beautiful flowers. Well, when you think of an April wedding, you might not think it this way. This wedding was one for the books. Honestly, it may go down as one of the most memorable weddings thus far. I don’t say that only because these are some of my best friends, but because of the weather. It’s Florida, known to some as the Sunshine State, but if you’re a true Floridian, then you know it for what it really is – The Bipolar State. I’d like to think of myself as a weather optimist, and never really thinking it will truly rain until the rain actually shows up. However, this day was a different. I was anxious. Maybe it’s because deep down, even though I didn’t want to believe it, I knew the rain was coming. Maybe it’s because I didn’t want to see my friend’s big day rained out. Who knows?! But regardless, the rain came. Like, a lot. I received messages from guests asking if there was a “Plan B.” No, no Plan B, just bring your umbrella and rain shoes…which I did. I kept waiting for Lindsay to freak out on me, but she kept it together amazingly well [at least on the outside]. While we waited out the rain, Lindsay and I chilled in my car for about an hour just chatting, watching her guests forge on with their umbrellas, and jamming out to none other than the Backstreet Boys! I mean, is it really a wedding day if you don’t hear a little BSB?

It’s so funny how we have our dreams of what our perfect wedding day will be like. At the end of the day, even if something didn’t go according to plan, you’re still just as married. That’s how Jerry and Lindsay were. They knew that even though the ceremony was delayed an hour and that centerpieces weren’t put on the tables until half way through the reception, that it was going to be okay. Not only did this sweet couple face the elements on their day, but they’re also in the process of renovating their first home. So, I think it’s safe to say, since they’ve endured both of these tasks successfully together, that there is no stopping them! Despite the crazy weather, Lindsay was a showstopper in her gorgeous Sophia Tolli dress, and she married the man of her dreams!! And at the end of the day, when they reflect back on their wedding day, they’ll know they made the most of it and smile because it was nothing short of perfect and left them with a great story and years of memories.

Lindsay and Jerry, I love being involved in your lives and think of you as my family! I love you both dearly and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!! I also cannot wait to be your neighbor, one of these days, hehe!

xoxo,

Holly
