I’m so excited to share this sweet engagement session with you guys! Today, we’re taking a look at a different side to New Orleans. When you think New Orleans, your mind probably immediately goes to Bourbon Street, Cafe Du Monde, Mardi Gras, etc. But this session is anything but that! I never realized how beautiful New Orleans was until I stepped outside of the hustle bustle of the French Quarter!

Meet Erika and Josh! I’ve known Erika for several years now as she’s been in weddings of mine and we are friends with the same people, so we’ve been around each other. So, I was super excited when she reached out to me to photograph her March 2019 wedding!! Erika and Josh currently live just outside of New Orleans, but are planning to marry back home in Florida. When we were talking about all of their plans she asked if I would be willing to travel out to New Orleans for their engagement session. This was hands down a resounding “YES!”. I love traveling and shooting in new places, especially if those places have significant meaning. Josh actually proposed to Erika outside of Jackson Square in the French Quarter, overlooking The St. Louis Cathedral! Naturally we had to take a couple of shots in that exact place!! I completely enjoyed bopping around the FQ with these two and then onto City Park. This park is beautiful and sprawling! Honestly, it was beautiful everywhere you looked.

After our session, we hit up this hole-in-the-wall burger joint which actually was set in an old shotgun house. It looked like it could’ve been a little sketch, but honestly it was amazing. The burgers were huge, but delish…definitely recommend for all you foodies out there!

Erika and Josh, I had a fantastic evening with y’all and I absolutely cannot wait for your spring wedding!! We’re going to have the best time!!
