Talbert Family | Family Session at the Fair

I know you do not see many families here on the Blog, but I couldn’t pass up sharing this special session! We have been anticipating this session for basically a full year! You see, this time last year I launched my new website and had a few fun Giveaways – the biggest being a Full Session with another little add-on bonus. Drew was my winner and she knew she wanted her family portraits to be a little different and had the fun and great idea of doing them at the fair! Unfortunately, we missed out on our opportunity last year. Thankfully, she didn’t let go of that idea and was patient enough to wait until Fall when the local Fair would be back in town. It quite possibly will go down as one of my favorite family sessions!

When you think of Baker county, you may think of small town living, or just that place that you pass through on the way to Jacksonville. This may be true, but since it is a small community, their fair provided the perfect backdrop. Seriously, when you look at these images, you may think we rented out the whole place to ourselves. Not going to lie, it kind of felt like that from time to time! I just had the best time with this sweet family of four! I’ve known Paul and Drew for many years, but this was the first time that I’ve had them in front of my lens and they totally rocked it! They have the cutest little boys who did awesome!

What made this session a little different, but extra special was the fact that we were not only making pretty images, but we were making memories! We weren’t concerned with perfection but just creating these sweet little moments in time. We took our time and strolled through the fair. The kids did fun things like rode the carousel with their parents and then they got brave and walked all the way up the Fun Slide by themselves! They also came down all by themselves – no fear that’s for sure. The Talbert family also got a cup of fresh squeezed lemonade and shared smiles over cotton candy! They did normal family things, while they were photographed. And that to me is what it’s all about. So, if you’re thinking of customizing a session that reflects the personality of your family, let’s do it! Let’s step out of our traditional boxes and make beautiful memories together so that for years to come while you look back on these images, you are looking back on real life moment and can remember the sight, the smell and the feeling that you had at that exact moment!

Drew and Paul, I’m so glad that we finally could meet up and document this time in your sweet family’s life! It was such a privilege spending the evening with you and your boys! I hope you enjoy these images for years to come!!

xoxo,

Holly
