The TD Workshop | Arizona Photographer

In a few months it will officially be two years ago that I set out on one of the best adventures for my business! You see, almost two years ago I left my day job at a local bank and set out to pursue my photography business. Also, almost two years ago, I attended a workshop with Trevor Dayley out in Phoenix, and it was a total game changer for me! If you’ve never heard of him, stop what you’re doing and go check out his work – he’s incredible!

I never blogged this experience for a couple of reasons, but thought now would be as good a time as any! It was this trip where I truly left my heart in the desert. I have been to Phoenix a couple of times before for work, but never had the opportunity to appreciate its beauty. I’m definitely in love with the desert and am always searching for any little reason to get back. Hint, hint. But really, it’s incredibly special and amazing, and everyone should at least make one trip!

A quick backstory on how this workshop happened: I knew in 2015 that I needed to start pushing myself and started looking for a way to make that happen. I was looking particularly at a lighting workshop with Lin & Jirsa in the Bahamas and then I found out about Trevor’s upcoming workshop. I did research into both and really toiled over which to choose. But at the end of the day, I felt it would be a better fit for me and where I was at to go with Trevor’s, and it was the best decision. If he ever opens them up again, do not hesitate to attend. Trevor is a great educator and a lot of fun. We learned a lot on the technical side of lighting, with words I’ve never heard of like “Chiaroscuro”. Bueller…Bueller. So, we had two full days of teaching and two shoots. Honestly, one of the most beautifully styled shoots I have ever seen, at one of the most drop dead gorgeous locations ever, DC Ranch. I would die to have a wedding here! It was incredibly beautiful and the desert sun was so beautiful. Really, you could not have asked for more beautiful days!

I learned so much over those two days and looking back on this challenges me! To this day, these are probably some of my favorite images that I’ve ever taken. They still make my heart pitter patter when I look at them. So, without further ado, after almost two years of sitting on my computer, fully edited, it’s time to share just a small glimpse into the hidden images from the Trevor Dayley Workshop!

xoxo,

Holly

How funny, I went to the Lin & Jirsa workshop that year in the Bahamas and that’s what completely propelled my career forward too! Guess either direction you went in would have been amazing 😉 Trevor Dayley is awesome, great to hear that his workshops are so great too! These photos are stunning 🙂
