Let me tell you about one of my favorite sessions from this past fall! Hint: it’s this one! Tara and Shawn were one of my sweet couples who got married back in 2016! Though I hadn’t photographed them since their wedding, it felt like no time had passed when we got together for their maternity shoot. As any good story with HFP goes, there was weather issues…

The day that we originally set for this couple’s photos ended up so drab and dark. We decided to try and meetup at their house anyway for some indoor portraits and then to see if any light would come out. It didn’t. In fact, it just began raining, even though the weather apps said it wasn’t going to. FYI: they’re wrong majority of the time. Fortunately for us, they were able to meet up a couple of days later to make this happen. And boy am I glad we waited! We had THE BEST AFTERNOON! I’m talking, beautiful light, nice temperatures, just perfect!! Honestly, it just helped totally enhance how beautiful Tara already is!

We met up at a small, new venue in town called Quail Haven Ranch and just shot around the property. I’ve already given Derriel (venue manager) my list of things that I’d like out there, including a ton more of what I like to call whispies – because quite frankly, they’re magical!!
